All qualified staff have 1st aid certificates which are renewed every two years. All staff members are required to have a police check and verification document to exclude any history of relevant criminal behaviours.

Relief Staff:
Relief staff to cover non-contact hours, staff meetings and staff absences are employed as required. Our regular relief staff members are generally contracted through the Early Childhood Education Relief Staff agency. Our relieving staff come highly recommended and this agency generally provides us with relief staff who are familiar with Wickham and our Children.

Students
In line with Wickham Preschool’s commitment to support Early Childhood Education training providers we take students for periods of practicum training. We are proud to be mentors for students as they gain experience in the field of Early Childhood Education. Wickham Preschool policy for practicum students is such that they will be supervised at all times, they will not change a child’s nappy unless supervised by a staff member and will be guided and supported through their teaching tasks.
Students will be provided with constructive feedback on their areas of strength and any areas requiring further development. Children’s wellbeing is paramount at Wickham and staff will ensure that student interaction is positive, calm and encouraging. Please introduce yourself to any students at Wickham and do not hesitate to ask about any aspect of the training system or concerns you may have regarding the students or the way you see them deployed.

Centre Manager: Stacey Larnach

Kia Ora everyone, My name is Stacey Larnach I am the centre Manager of Wickham Preschool.

I have been teaching for the past 14 years and thoroughly enjoy making a difference to the lives of our next generation. I have had a passion for Early childhood throughout my life and decided to study towards my Diploma of Teaching. I am fully trained and registered.

My passion is working with children with challenging behaviours and role modelling good practice with fellow teachers. Together we will make a positive contribution to our community.

Kia Ora, my name is Allie, I am the head teacher of the two and over room.

I hold a bachelor of Teaching and Learning through Canterbury University and I have worked in Early Childhood for five years.

I love learning new and exciting ways to extend on children's development. I believe it is important for children to develop social skills and a sense of belonging here at Wickham and in their wider community.

Hi my name is Sacha, I have my Diploma of Teaching, and I have been working at Wickham Preschool for over 6 years.

I have seen many children transition from the infant room right through to transitioning to school. It is a very rewarding job and a great feeling to know that you have helped to educate so many children, also being part of the process of preparing them for their next educational journey at primary school.

Over 2's teacher: Cheryl Loveday

Hi - my name is Cheryl and I have the pleasure of working for Wickham Preschool for the past 2 years. Over that time I have developed wonderful relationships with the parents/whanau and children that I have cared for and educated in our centre. My philosophy is to motivate and extend children’s learning in a fun and supportive environment. I place a lot of value on children being safe and giving them the skills for life, encouraging positive behaviour.

I believe we are all teachers and we are all learners. I understand the importance of families sharing their children’s education and development. I am currently in my final year of completing my early childhood degree.

Hello my name is RoseAnne Smith. I have been working at Wickham Preschool since 2009.
